Bulk SMS – frequently asked questions

What is the difference between transactional and promotional SMS?

Transactional SMS carry information a customer needs – OTPs, order and payment alerts – and reach DND numbers too. Promotional SMS carry offers and marketing; they go only to non-DND numbers and only between 10 AM and 9 PM.

Do I need DLT registration to send bulk SMS?

Yes. TRAI rules require every business to register its entity, sender IDs (headers) and message templates on a DLT platform. Our team guides you through the process.

Can I send SMS in Hindi and other Indian languages?

Yes, Unicode SMS are supported for Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and other languages. One Unicode SMS holds up to 70 characters.

How many characters are in one SMS?

A normal English SMS holds 160 characters. Longer messages are sent as multiple parts (153 characters each) and joined on the phone.

Can I send SMS from my own software?

Yes. Our HTTP API works with any language – PHP, Java, .NET, Node.js, Python – and with CRMs and e-commerce platforms.

How do I check the delivery of my SMS?

Every message has a live delivery report in the panel – delivered, failed or pending – with date-wise, campaign-wise and sender ID-wise reports you can download in Excel.
